Pin number
Applying for your Nurse’s PIN number
In order to work as a nurse in Ireland you must first be granted a PIN number by The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) to verify that you possess the necessary qualifications/experience.
Having a PIN means you are officially recognised as a nurse and listed on NMBI’s Register of Nurses and Midwives in the division(s) in which you specialise. Every nurse in Ireland pays an Annual Fee to maintain their PIN and place on the Register.
To apply for registration in a division of the Register you must be educated and trained in that division.
If your trained in Poland and started since 1st May 2004, it is likely that NMBI will be able to automatically register you without requiring a full educational assessment, provided that you submit the correct application documents and pay the relevant fees.
PIN Registration Fees
An Assessment Fee of €350 covers the cost of applying for one or more divisions of the Register for which you are qualified.
A Registration Fee of €145 will allow you to join the Register once your application has been successful.
At the date of application you must hold current registration as a nurse in another country and provide a Certificate of Current Professional Status (CCPS) from your national nursing authority to confirm the current status of your registration and training. If you completed a supervised Graduate Nurse Program (GNP) after your training, you should request details from the hospital or healthcare institution where you completed the program.
Beechfield will provide you with all the advice and support you need to accelerate your application process and start your career as a nurse in Ireland.
