Hiring Policy

Beechfield Care Group recruits nursing staff based on a number of key criteria. Candidates are selected based on:

  • Ability to fulfil the role outlined in the Job Description
  • Relevant work experience and other care-related skills
  • Education history and/or qualifications
  • Motivation and people skills shown in interview

The Hiring Process for Nursing Staff is as follows:

Application: Candidates are short-listed based on their application documents (CV, covering letter). Relevant experience and qualifications are the key criteria at this stage.

Short-listing: Only short-listed applicants will be contacted and those selected for interview are asked to confirm attendance by phone. If your availability is dependent on travel timetables we will endeavour to make allowance for this.

Interview Day: Interviews will take place over one or two days depending on the number of interviewees. (Note: Interviews may also take place over Skype). You are asked to report to Reception in advance and provide:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Academic qualifications
  • Names and contact numbers of your 2 references (including most recent employer)

Interview: The interview panel will consist of 2 to 3 interviewers. The interview is a two way process; it is our opportunity to ensure we select the best candidate for the post and it is your opportunity to ensure that it is the ideal role for you.

  • The interview panel will be consistent throughout the process.
  • The interview panel will meet following the final interview and agree on the successful candidate(s)

Results: The results of the interview will be confirmed within one week. Occasionally the company may request a second interview, particularly for senior positions.

  • The HR Department will contact the successful candidate(s) and make a verbal Offer. Following acceptance, you receive a Letter of Offer detailing the Terms & Conditions of the Role and the mandatory documentation to be supplied on the start date.
  • All offers are subject to satisfactory references, proof of qualifications and Garda (police) checks.

Induction: All new employees will complete an induction and training program to include at minimum fire training, elder abuse and manual handling. A record of attendance will be maintained.
